1949 Doepke #2006 Adams Road Grader in Original Box
Introduced in 1948 this yellow #2006 Adams Road Grader was the second version produced by Doepke and is considerably scarcer than its predecessor, which was “brilliant dark orangeâ€. Virtually unused and in near mint- condition it comes complete with its original box, die cut insert, and newspaper packing. The Adams Road Grader was one of two Doepke construction toys built 1:12 scale; the other being their Bulldozer. Originally selling for a whopping $13.95 it was advertised as lasting 3X longer than any other toy. In total, four versions were produced from 1948 until 1956. All heavy gauge pressed steel construction and weighing 14 pounds; with baked-on enamel surface and six solid rubber tires. Features four scraper levels, each with three way adjustment, working steering wheel, and auto-leveling rear axle. Includes authentic Adams grader decals on sides and front. Original box is all text and printed with manufacturer’s name and trademark. The correctly corresponding catalog number is located on the endflaps. Insert is complete.
